Foundwise Partners · Strategic risk + operations
I am Alisa Chalakhyan Wilson. I help founders and management teams think clearly when the stakes are high and the answer is not obvious. Strategic risk on one side, operational clarity on the other, structured thinking through the middle.

When to call me
I am most useful at the moments that are easy to get wrong and hard to undo.
Raise or stay lean, pivot or hold, build or partner, enter a market or wait. The kind of call you only get to make once.
The numbers say you are working harder for the same result, and no one can point to exactly where it leaks.
You have information, but not clarity. You need someone to structure the problem before you act on it.
You do not need a sixty-slide report. You need someone sharp in the room while management decides.
How I work
My background is risk management and research, so I treat every important decision the same way: structure it, find what actually matters, and make the trade-offs visible. The goal is never a prettier opinion. It is a better decision.
Most stuck decisions are not hard. They are just tangled. I separate the strands first.
Good calls can have bad luck. I focus on whether the reasoning was sound under what you knew.
Every plan rests on one belief that, if wrong, breaks everything. We test that one first.
Clarity is naming what you are giving up, not pretending you can have it all.
I would rather hand you a small, honest fact than a confident guess.
Why me
I grew up in Armenia, where opportunity was something you built, not something you were handed. I started my first company with my best friend, raised seed funding, ran it for nearly two years, and watched it fail. That failure handed me a question I have been answering ever since: why do capable, committed founders still make the wrong calls?
That question took me to Columbia University for a master's in Enterprise Risk Management, where I learned that entrepreneurship is not the absence of risk. It is knowing which risks are worth taking. It led me to teach entrepreneurship at the University of Denver, and to pursue my doctorate at Penn State, where I research how founders perceive and act on risk. And it led me to build Foundwise, an AI platform that puts disciplined startup thinking within reach of anyone with an idea.
I have sat in three seats: the founder making the call, the investor judging it, and the researcher studying why it goes wrong. When I sit with your team, I bring all three.

I wrote the book on this
How to build with evidence instead of luck.
A case for treating entrepreneurship as a discipline instead of a lottery. Validate before you gamble. Experiment before you invest. Collect evidence before the decisions that decide everything.
Foundwise Partners
I make sure you are making the right decision. My partner Jason makes sure the revenue engine behind it is real. He comes from sales and business development and owns the growth side of every engagement: go-to-market, revenue architecture, and turning a product into a repeatable way to sell. Most founders need both at once.
